Cabinet has a great layout for housing AV systems, there's nothing else close to it that I could find in retail stores The modern design is great, and always gets comments from visitors.
The cable management could be improved, given that this is designed to take a number of AV components (hifi, home theatre, games consoles, etc). The cutouts at the back were not big enough I found, after putting the unit together I had to then resort to a getting out a dremmel drill to make the cutouts bigger. maybe some ventilation holes near the top at the back might be useful, given the heat thrown out by AV systems.

Strong and stable. The finish is good enough, though small marks are appearing on the edges of the front panel. The unit is strong enough for a very heavy plasma screen. Door/front panel mechanism is very smooth and shows quality. Despite all my criticsms, the unit does work and in comparison with the majority of TV stands, this one looks better than most.
Two main issues: The back panel had to be removed completely as the holes are far too small and very difficult to feed wires through - we used this for a DVD player, a games console and an AV amp and if you have that amount of wires you'll end up just removing the panel altogether. The other issue is that the front panel frame is too thick meaning that using a remote control on any peripheral that is at the lowest level is hit and miss as the frame obscures the device you are pointing at - it also means that the display on any of these devices will also be partially hidden! Like most TV stands, this one is somewhat overpriced for what is in essence a painted MDF flat pack.

Looks good, keeps the noise of equipment contained, cables are routed neatly from the back.
Despite the heavy duty build quality, the weight of our 37" LCD TV has caused the cabinet to distort a little and the top corners no longer line up accurately. Opening the door can require a bit of force which could cause a CD/DVD player to skip.

Looks great, accomodates my Sky unit, AV reciever, Xbox 360, PS3 and all gaming accessories. Solid build quality & easy to assemble. It conceals cables nicely & makes the room look tidier
Poor ventelation at the back means if I am using a games console I need to open the front of the unit. Small cable holes make it fiddly to change leads over

Solid construction. Large enough for my 42" with plenty of storage space.
Walnut vaneer isn't very realistic.

Sturdy and attractive. Can sit/stand/jump on it if you wish.
Works best without the back section which impedes wiring. Although each section is large, be careful to account for the hinges which remove about 3-4cm from the advertised depth if your appliance needs the full width of the shelf.

Very stylish and wouldfit most rooms' decor.
Some equipment could overheat with the door shut, due to poor air circulation, so we keep it down a lot o the time.

Very sturdy built, simple design - fits in with most furniture. Lots of room for inside the unit - currently mine's filled with a PS3, stereo, Wii, router, V+ HD box, modem, games and still plenty of room for more
Can't help but feel its still rather expensive for what is basically mdf and glass - would expect solid wood really. Could do with more cooling vents, PS3 fans come in very easily

Very attractive and smart. Much nicer looking than some much more expensive cabinets.
Could have been on castors which would have been excellent.

Looks good. Simple and sytlish - matches with most TV's. The no handle glass front is very kiddy proof!!
The width of each unit section is insufficient to fit an AV amp The reare card board is backing has insufficient cutouts ports to sensibly get all your cable connections through to the other componenets/TV. The depth of the unit is 2 cm too small to allow amp and cables to connect easily. exterioir finish scrathces very easily and is not robust

incredibly difficult to construct, instructions were all wrong panels were labelled incorrectly in diagrams so took 3 hours and 10 mins to complete!!!

Caroline, Peterborough, “Capable female.”
Excellent, stylish, inexpensive unit. Mobile with superb self- lowering door. Worth the effort of assembly.
Clear glass on front means everything inside is clearly visible - smoked glass would make this unit perfect. Very heavy and almost impossible to assemble alone. It took me a VERY long time.

Well made; clear instructions
easy to damage finish

Looks good and keeps the dust and fingers off my AV equipment. Also was big enough and strong enough to support my 50" Plasma.
The cable management holes in the back of the unit are plenty big enough for the cables but not adequate for cooling (e.g when the door on the stand is closed and my PS3 and/or Amp are on they quickly over heat). I had to enlarge the holes myself with a jigsaw, obviously now the unit’s warranty is voided. But it has done the trick. Overall though an excellent stand and good value for money.

Slow closing hinges...nice
Veneer marks easily, I scrached top front putting LCD on.

Good quality, nice piece of furniture.
Screws for the door were confusing with regard to length. Fortunately we put the screws for the base side of the hinge in first so when they came through the MDF they are not noticeable but if they had been put into the door they would have spoilt the front of the door.

Heavy, solid quality product. Stylish design that compliments flat screen monitors. Good shelving and space for plenty of AV add-ons, ie. dvd player, blu-ray player, hd recorder etc. Items feel save and secure when stored within the cabinet and reasonably dust free. Nice discreet wheels on unit so is easily movable to get at the back of the unit.
Takes a while to read instructions and build the cabinet. Really do need to read it carefully. Took me 2-3 hours to put together. Would like to have cable gaps also in the back of the small middle shelf area like they have done with the larger shelves. This is so either an up-right digital receiver or PS2 unit could have sat in there instead of dvd cases. The middle bit feels slightly redundant space to me but I can see why this has been done to strengthen overall unit. These are really minor points compared to the good points about the unit.

Great looks and styling. Plenty of shelf space and room for cables
Difficulty and time to self assemble. Can't seem to get front door to fit just perfectly! Still looks good.

John, Sleaford, Lincolnshire
Looks and build quality are its strongest features. The unit is great if the components used aren't too wide or deep.
Although it supports a 40 inch LCD TV with ease, it is deceptively small inside; the hinge scrapes the side of my DVD player every time I open the door and I had to make the rear holes bigger to enable me to connect the appropriate HDMI, scart, and electrical cables. Furthermore, it isn't deep enough to store an AV amp.

Keith, Co. Durham
Good quality product with room for four pieces of equipment, including an av receiver. All units are on show with all the cables hidden!
Only one, the units quite heavy and the castors are useless if its sat on carpet.

Great gloss black finish.
Lack of airflow. Overheating of equipment.

Solid build, good quality. Black sparkle finish same as tv. Plenty of gaps to allow cables to be hidden behind items. A very neat solution if you have a few devices around your tv.
Larger items such as an amplifier only just fits in. Black finish chips easily, care is required. Cables difficult to manage initially but once best fit found, can't really fault it.

Solid and well built.
Not really deep enough for an AV amp/receiver, fine for DVD players, freeview boxes and the like. I had to leave the back of in the end which allowed the amp to squeeze in. No big deal really as you can't see the back at all. Very difficult to wire everything up once it is in place. Best to leave the top off the cabinet, wire things up and then put the top on.

very nice looking, looks more expensive than the standard black model. ample storage for satellite box, dvd player etc, and also ample for cds and dvds. castors are great idea and godsend, easy to move around.
i found bit difficult to understand instructions, one person could not manage to put it together. i also think bit of high price difference between mahogany and oak and black models.

Good looking solid product with loads of space. I have a PS3, PS2, Sky+ box, DVD player and Video in there and there is room for more. It's taking the weight of a 50" Panasonic with ease, and there's still room for my son to climb up onto it ;-)
Ventilation could be better as it seems pretty warm in there with all the AV equipment on but that might be characteristic of all enclosed cabinets.

Sleek Design. Looks far More expensive than it costs
No cable management as such but the 'chunky shelves allow you to hide cables quite well

George, Watford, “senior citizen demands quality.”
looks superb and the addition of casters is a superb idea.
there sould be more choices regarding shelf space.at least 3.one piece of equipment on each glass shelf means that addittional units have to sit below which means access to the remote control is not possible.two small platforms would raise units above the wooden door frame.i have improvised by using wooden blocks.if the appertures at the back of the cabinet could be made more generous, access to equipment "connections" would be that much easier.

great looking and great quality! soo cheap compared with some of the other nice looking stands! definatly recommended
not really a bad point, but i can see the hinges ripping out if anyone was to lean on the door whilst its open! nothing to stop its downward movement (except hinges) when open

Looks very stylish when built. Easy enough to put together. Good value for money.
I have an Onkyo 606 AV Amp and it only just fits on one self. Not suitable for larger AV Amps.

The ALPHASON ABR1100-B was easy enough to put together due to good intructions as sometimes flatbed intructions can be a nightmare.
This is not really a bad point about the product itself but something to be aware of when purchasing. Most AV equipment are 18 inches plus in width but the ALPHASON ABR1100-B shelfs are only 17 inches wide so i had to improvise a little to fit my av equipment

Well made and easy to assemble.
Too short to use under a large television! I had to make a base to increase the height by about 30 cm.

Terry, Cheshire, “A gadgeteer!”
Great looking piece of kit with plenty of space inside. Keeps the items dust free, and keeps prying little hands of my expensive system. I would definately recommend this item to anybody considering a piece of furniture that fits into a room without taking it over and with plenty of room inside.
Could be awkward to put together on your own?

It's style, it's size, the build quality.
Drop down front does not touch the ground putting strain on the hinges. Lozenge holes in the back panel not large enough to cope with wiring of our cinema surround sound.

Easy to put together. Excellent look and feel. Quality finish and smooth door operation.
Unit is very heavy. Rear panel holes for cables are far too small - I left the whole panel off - also this allows components of longer depth to be housed - also helps cooling.

You can fit several electronic item in the cabine. easlily visible. nice black shiny product. looks and seems pretty solid.
instruction were not very clear in the print. and thery were'nt idiot proof. bottom shelf is a bit low. could do with some more shelvfes space with another level with glass. the openeing door could slide up and inward into the unit., rather thasn out unto the floor. not very goos hindges, although you have to adjust it sevral times to get it opening smoothly. it could have been bigger in order to come to some sort of level to match house hold furniture.

Good quality, looks brilliant and enhances the look of plasma tv's.
A bit fiddly to put together. Only other thing is it could do with another shelf either side to avoid using the bottom shelf as I've found the the thick wood on the door stops the signal of the remote on some items placed there. I have to stand up and move closer to use the remote/leave the door open when using my dvd player.

Looks lovely, very stylish.
Impossible to assemble, niether my partner or I could do it, we had to ask our friend who has a PhD in mechanical engineering to come round and have a go, it took him over 3 hours to assemble and he said it was one of the most difficult things he'd ever had to put together!!! Would not recommend...

John, Telford, “Ordinary handy type bloke ”
nicely packed to resist damage in transit. Nice finish easy to assemble casters allow for easy cleaning behind unit
could do with additional holes to select different centres of glass shelves in the vertical plane. Instructions should suggest installing hinges and stays whilst in knocked down form , not after assembly. Simpler glass fixing ie turn buttons in lieu of knock in plastic plugs. Overall very pleased with this good quality well finished product
25 Oct 2008
Kathy, Basildon
The unit looks stylish with plenty of room for multimedia equipment inside.
I'm not happy with the finish on the product. I am surprised that it doesn't have a tough varnish finish on it and as a result it scratches very easily. My 16 month old daughter has managed to scratch the top surface with a small lightweight plastic toy cup, which she just wiped across the top!

Stylish and doesn`t appear too large for the room but accommodates my four electronic items adequately. It looks really good in the room and the slow opening door (adjustable) works very well.
Possibly could make the cable holes slightly wider and lower at the bottom but maybe I`m being too picky..!

Design is wonderful, smooth operating front door. Everyone who sees it says "nice TV cabinet!"
Middle shelf a little pointless, remote control operation can be very slightly obscured if standing near to cabinet (no big deal)

Nice quality, very heavy unit with good features (e.g. damped action on front cover). Good price and very stable with a large TV on it.
Quite long winded to put together (necessary I suppose given the size and weight) and the instructions were not always very helpful or clear.
26 Jun 2008
H, Glasgow
Very stylish system - compact but enough shelf space to cope with all equipment. Although you will find that AV amps are a tight squeeze
Ventilation of equipment is not great. There are large slits at each area for cables to come in - but when front is up there is little flow through of air - and can hear the fans of the equipment working to cool down. This is only a problem if you are running equipment for prolonged period of time - and is remedied by lowering front for short space of time

Love the unit it looks lovely and very expensive
Unfortunately have to build it up and the instructions would have been better if the piece had numbered rather than try to guess the correct way round for a few pieces. Having said that still very happy with the product.

Looks good. Sturdy. Easy opening/closing. Nice appearance.
Hard to assemble, difficult to fit together and still not convinced now about how well the front door closes as there is a gap at one side and not the other. Hard to fit cables through holes at back of stand.

Excellent quality, easy assembly with good fitting instructions.
Inner door hinge can limit bottom shelf space if using a large amp such as the Onkyo. Then just use one hinge which works fine.
