Bosch SMS-69L

It's so quiet I often don't realise it's on! It is also really clever and adjusts the cycle time to fit the dirtiness of the dishes... I love it!!

Easy to install. Very quiet. Easy to load, easy to empty.

All dishes, utensils are always very clean inside (i.e as cleaned from underneath) . We have however had some problems with bits being stuck on the outside (ie the top of things as stacked in the dishwasher) and in the cutlery tray. We think this results from the fact that the dishwasher uses very little water (which should be a good thing). As a result we are running a Prerinse cycle everytime we add a significant number of things to the dishwasher ie once or twice for each actual wash cycle. Then we find the Automatic Daily cycle works fine. Information about the different cycles in the pamphlet could be much clearer and extensive - we are having to experiment.

Fantastic Noise level, you can hardly hear it. You can fit a lot of dishes in it - far more than other dishwashers we have previously had. Love the cutlery shelf!!! Brings the cutlery out far cleaner and with no 'rusting' if left in there for any amount of time.

The hygiene cycle for babies bottles does not bring them clean enough. It would be better if the door locked when in use, especially as you can't really hear it. I have opened the door on one occasion becasue I did not hear the dishwasher on and sprayed water everywhere!!

Very quiet. It's possible to dismantle the insides and install a shower spray for grill and oven pans. I've not tried this; it's probably quicker just to wash them by hand. The racks fold down. I don't know why. Installation is easy, you just disconnect the old one and attach the new one. It speaks dozens of languages so if you have a Czech or Slovenian au pair she will feel quite at home. Japanese too. Bosch has provided a handy funnel to help load salt. I always found it tricky trying to balance a 2Kg sack of salt inside the machine while encouraging the salt to flow into the hole. Now it is a breeze.

Cutlery tray adds several minutes to loading time compared to basket. It also takes up critical space so there is only one position for the upper basket if you wash normal dinner plates below and mugs above. It takes some thought to find anywhere for tall glasses. The displays are in German at first but you can change them to English if you glance at the technical documentation and enter the necessary codes using a combination of the touch sensitive buttons. I usually switch it on before bed time. This machine ends its cycle with a furious beeping that sounds like a smoke alarm going off. But you can deactivate that with more code tapping from the instruction book. My old Bosch worked without fault for 14 years until the soap flap broke. I can't imagine this machine will see out its 5th birthday. The trays feel delicate, like the salad tray in my Bosch fridge which smashed within days. But all manufacturers make their profits from selling replacement trays so I'd happily recommend it to you.

Having the cutlery drawer instead of a cramped basket is much easier to load, and it cleans them much better as they are not touching, the machine is so quiet you cannot tell if it is on or not, having no knobs or dials on front facia keeps the appearance very neat

Can move the racks around easily to fit in larger items and has large capacity overall which is great for my larger than average family.

The racks sometimes collapse on their own causing the plates to fall over.

Easy to use, generally excellent cleaning, range of programmes (fast, eco, intensive etc), very quiet, timer delay is useful, uses only a small amount of water, express wash just as good as full wash, and half the length.

Tiny complaint: on the very quick programme you have to load fewer items and make sure they're in direct 'sight' of the spraying arms.

I just love this dishwasher; from the flexible VarioDrawer system, eco wash, and quick wash, it's low water consumption and best of all it's practically silent.

The only bad point is the beep that goes off when finished washing till you turn the machine off.

Generally very Quiet and easy to use. Cleans everything very well and has a good amount of space for the pans. The Cutlery tray is a really good idea too.

Has an alarm which goes off at the end of the cycle. If you don't act on the alarm it repeats some time later. This is really annoying if you've set the machine to work at night. I suspect the alarm can be switched off but this is not mentioned in the handbook.

The top vario tray is removable, but of course its nice to use. A cutlery basket did not come as standard, you are meant to use the vario tray. That is slow to load, and again if needing to wash taller glasses, you may need to take it out. We are using an old cutlery basket and that solves the issue.

Quiet, good choice of programmes, reasonably easy to load.Overall a vast improvement on the Zanussi which it replaces, plates come out really hot and dry even after the 29 minute wash which works well provided the load isn't large and/or very dirty.

Upper drawer handle broken on delivery but Bosch replaced quickly and without question (but a different colour), not easy to find places for small items.

Washes clean even using express wash cycle - unlike previous Bosch machine (4 years old).

Cereal and soup bowls do not fit too well. Also tall glasses are a little problematic because of cutlery drawer above.

It is unbelievably quiet - you have to look at the screen to realise that it is actually working. It has a quick wash that is 29 minutes and it seems pretty good.

Tablet sometimes gets stuck in the handle of the top rack, Things don't always rinse properly.

This all-singing, all-dancing model from Bosch packs in as much technology as in a Miele dishwasher for half the price.

Very quiet and loads of practical features. Excellent cleaning results.

Cutlery draw took a bit of getting used to

Very quiet which is why I chose it. More programs than you'll ever use. Top cutlery drawer rather than basket gives extra space.

We use a lot of tall non stem glasses and not as much space for these as previous model (also Bosch)
