James, Sheffield, “Careful shopper”

Small, lightweight, easy to use, FM traffic receiver particularly good value compared to stand-alone price.

Have to open GPS 'aerial' flap at back to receive satellite signals (other models don't need have one). Sometimes directs down much more minor roads than you would choose yourself, probably due to map data not distinguishing between usefulness of some minor road options.

Not too big so it fits in your pocket when you get out of the car. Looks good and is very easy to use.

Annoying terms screen has to be agreed to every time you turn it on (even if it goes from standby in a garage when engine is switched off)

If you go a different way, it recalculates the route and only tries to turn you around if there are no options, unlike a Tom Tom we tried.

I'd rather the traffic add on was internal rather than an extra plug in. With it set to quickest route, it does sometimes knock off up to 7 minutes from the expected arrival time when you ignore it and go another way that you know is quicker.

Compact, good battery life, clear and so far accurate directions. Garmin website is very good and offers some excellent freebies to add to the nuvi.

Doesn't display time. distance remaining on the main navigation screen and I cant find a way to change it

Easy to set up and use. Really accurate. Absolutely brilliant product for the price I paid

Short battery, sometimes a bit slow when starting up, doesnt allow you to change the route if you want to avoid certain roads

Inconsistent. Gives different routes for the same journey on different days. Instructions (voice) are unclear. Although instructions are followed absolutely, the result is often "Recalculating" - i.e. "you have gone the wrong way".
