i have had this phone for over a month now and am still learning how to use some of the aspects of it. It is a really good phone with loads of memory.th sound quality is brilliant, camera brilliant, video quality brilliant. When i got mine it was preloaded with spiderman 3 and had leads to connect it to tv so thats what i did and the kids loved it, it was like watching it at the cinema.

The battery life is about the only bad thing i can think of, but it really isn't that bad anyway, if you don't play games all the time then it will be fine for you, i probably charge mine about every three days, which isn't that bad, i don't think

The phone is fantastic the picture quality is remarkable both on downloaded videos and pictures taken using the built in camera, it is very user friendly the fact it can use WAN connections for the Internet is great

Only flaw with the phone is the battery, if you use it for bare minimum things ie phone calls, texts and a few photos the phone will last you about a day and a half, anything more like surfing the net or watch films and that time is dramtatically reduced to about 12-14hours

Score: 8.4/10

Nader, Scotland, “Experienced tech enthusiast”

Extensive & comprehensive connectivity options including WiFi. Large storage capacity at 8GB. Excellent quality screen which is easy to read, bright & has a wide viewing angle. A capable web browser (and you can download & use others like Opera Mobile if you prefer). Good music playback with the option of user adjustable EQs (1 up on my iPod!). Can play DivX files (download 3rd party software & ensure suitable compression quality). Excellent video quality. Easy to connect to a TV & external sound system. GPS quick to pick up a signal & is surprisingly useful as a walking Nav-aid in unfamiliar cities etc (note accuracy avgerage to within 11m).

Although the camera has a 5 MP sensor & C-Z lens, the actual image quality is not on par with my 4 year old 5 MP camera. The reason is quite clear looking at the files: over-zealous JPEG compression. Even with the option to capture & save at the highest quality, files are generally around 600kb. It's 'ok' for shots where background detail isn't important but otherwise not a camera substitute yet. Generally the battery will see you through 2 days of varied app use which, while good for this generation, has some way to go before you can venture too far from a recharge point ;) The phone is also the most bulky of all phones I've had to date. No lens cover! Slow transfer rates over USB when shifting a large amount of files (yes even after Vista SP1). The music bowser can be cumbersome (although yet to upgrade to latest firmware). Dual slider concept is unnecessary with no real benefit vs a little annoyance.

Everything you need in a phone! i have been using nokias for a while now, although my last phone was a samsung and i hated it! the features on this phone are excellent! internet, camera, videophone, mp3 player, even gps! you name it, this has got it!

The only bad things I can think of are of little importance. The battery life isn't that good, only a few days, but you can charge it every night if needs be! Another thing is that it is a difficult phone to operate when first bought, unless you have used a nokia smartphone before! although you will get used to it eventually.

I like the camera, the MP3 Player, The Sat Nav, The Blue Tooth Headset is good, You can play your videos or view your photos through your TV, The storage memory size is brilliant On a whole it is better than the previous N95 and i would say its one of the best phones i have used.

The Sat Nav Isnt quite up to date, The MP3 player does freeze from time to time. The internet access could be better, i find it easier to use my home wireless network connection than the phone's built in modem. If You use your phone Often like i do, the chrome wears off the buttons. With all the features it has the battery has to be charged every night if you use them a lot.

Great camera quality. Great sound quality for the music.

Insanely unintuative to use. Extremely disappointing as Nokia have always done so well in this area. I will probably not buy a Nokia again after this and that's as a life long Nokia devotee. The thing that kepy me coming back to Nokia was that they were always so easy to use, even with increasing amounts of functionality. In my view this reason has completely vanished which blows the market wide open for me in the future. Bad show Nokia, very disappointed.

The camera is brilliant, and amazing quality, even when put onto a bigger screen. Connectivity is very good as you can link it up to your TV by the included cable and watch everything on a bigger screen. The screen is very clear, even in the bright sunlight and can be seen very easily in all conditions. The speakers on the phone (one on either side) are very clear, and more importantly are very loud! So you can use it in conditions where a stereo can't be used. The memory on the phone, which is the main selling point, is one of the best aspects of the phone. I have had it for little over 3 months now, have taken about 200 photo's and video's, have about 2 films on the phone, including numerous scrubs episodes, and around 500 songs on board, and the memory is only about half full!! i HIGHLY recommend this phone.

Not many bad points really. The build quality on the phone seems to be a bit shabby though. When i first got the phone it was fine, but over the past few months the slide has come a bit loose, which can be annoying when your using the navigation buttons. Also to software on the phone has a tendency to crash. NOT OFTEN, i'm just saying it HAS happened. It is easily sorted by a restart of the phone. This apparently happens on most of the Nokia 'N' range so its nothing to worry about too much.

All Good! very Simple to use. Propper Headhone Jack. MP3 Controls. Many many apps to download. Sat Nav. Excellent Screen quality.

These are not realy BAD points, just observations in a Phone which I see as the first of its kind. MP3 controls although good, should be mounted externally and not have to open the slide. Headphone jack on the side, would be much better on top or bottom when using as an MP3 Player it can be tricky sometimes in smaller pockets with the jack protruding out the side. Acceleromiter functionality should be utilized more, something like shake lock / unlock should come with standard firmware updates, as should MP3 Gesture Control.

The main thing would be the battery, but if you don't mind charging it every other night then you'll be fine. I found that if you turn it off at night then that helps too. The only other thing would be the size, but considering what the thing can you I can well live with that.

sorry nokia but please sort the battery life out, it is very poor, i downloaded n-gage and if you play say fifa 2008 for not even and hour it goes dead, so you have to play it with the charger in if you are near a point. the other thing is the screen scratchs very easierly so BUY A SCREEN PROTECTOR.

I love the many features of this phone and the choice of having more than one applicationopen at the same time. This is the first nokia that i have owned and I'm loving. The layout of the different features is also good and the screen size fits well with all the information that you can get from the internet. A very good smatphone.

The battery life is not impressive, i charged the phone the first time for about 10 hurs and now that I am in the third week i seem to have to chargeu p every two days even though i am not using all the features at the same time. Having always owned a Sony Ericsson, I'm not impressed with the MP3 quality and think this could be improved also whilst I love the phone, Nokia should be able to put all the features into something that is not so bulky. Also it would be good if yu could create as well as edit word & excel documents. At least 2 full pre installed games would be a bonus instead of trials.

The best Symbian device on the marker (atm). Great memory, speed and 3d accelleration (hey Quake plays great). In addition to that lot's of third party applications makes this phone great for any task. I personaly use it for ebook reading and it's a great companion

The worst thing about this phone is the 8gb flash memory speed. It's so slow that you can forget about quick music synchronisation a'la ipod. The transfer is horribly slow and Nokia really should spent a little more money on a quality flash and not a cheap and slow implementation like it is now.

GPS combined with viewranger mapping software (bought seperately) and the free nokia sportstracker software. Now got all of the UK Landranger Ordnance Survey Maps for the UK on my phone. Great for mountain biking, walking and all cycling!

Battery life when using GPS can be a bit limiting. Normally runs out after 6 to 7hrs if using it in these circumstances. Camera has a long delay between each photograph. Therefore easy to miss the 'action' in any action shots. The phones operating system and menus etc are not totally intuiative to use. Although I have got use to it now.

It has everything you could ever want from your mobile phone and the design is really cool - especially with the seperate slide-action just for media, it makes listening to music quick and easy. internet browsing is easy and really good quality, and the sound and image quality is stunning. Watching videos on the phone is also amazing quality.

The battery life is really poor - if you forget to plug it in to charge every night it will die half way through the next day. You can't set the menu on the main screen to features you want there, they come pre-set. When you set a picture to be your wallpaper, it doesn't fill the screen and instead looks odd and out of place.

Its hard to say the good points as there is so many, over all id say if it isnt listed in the bad points then its already brillient!! Although, i must say, i love the idea of getting software like free stuff people make and installing, enhancing the possibilites of the phone beyond its standard capabilities.

Battery Life - but this can be an issue with all phones so its a case of once new Battery Technology is better then i guess this wont change much. Slide Feature Design Fault! - as the N95 slides both ways (which is a good idea especially with portrait ability) there is a design fault with it when you put it in your pocket. If you are not waring baggy jeans then when u bend your knees (even with say sitting down) the phone can slide one way or the other accidently, which also Unlockes the keypad resulting in possible accidental dialing. To make the phone PERFECT! 10 out of 10.... The possible addition of a card reader aswell would of been the Iceing on the cake with the N95v2. Might seem pointless but since software can be install it would come in handy. Instead of a Hard Drive in the unit, some HIGH SPEED flash memory (like whats used with Windows ReadyBoost technology) would improve USB data transfer. (not sure about anyone else but it seems sluggish) Nokia Software sometimes seems a rather large intense program.

Big screen, camera and music player are perfect. Internet browser is ok but can be improved by using opera mini. Wifi access. Watch video's. N-gage has raised the bar for mobile gaming it is now as good as PS1. GPS is also a handy tool when your in unfamiliar surroundings.

A few bugs here and there but not too problematic, should be solved with the next firmware update. battery life could be improved, however it still does last quite a while for a phone with a screen of its size. Without a screen protector screen tends to get a lot of smudges but nothing that can't be wiped off.

extremely powerful phone, camera is amazing, sound quality is great, lots of very useful or pointlessly fun software available such as a spirit level or a 2D water physics simulator, tilt the phone in any direction and the water will fall realisticly that way, its completley useless but fun.

can be slow sometimes and the battery wont last a day, other than that nothing

The N95 8GB is a feature-laden handset which I find invaluable whilst travelling. I can especially recommend the email facility, the camera is amazing for a mobile phone, the web browsing is wonderful and is wireless enabled so I can browse for free when on certain trains and also at home when needed. It is a large handset (compared to others on the market) but I personally like the weighty feeling and it is something I am willing to compromise on when it means I have so much functionality. Highly recommended.

The battery life of this phone is awful!!! It is not something that I would take into account when thinking about buying it however, you just have to make sure that you charge it frequently which to be honest most people do anyway. A handy tip is to purchase the Nokia car charger and plug the phone in during all your journeys (long or short) which tops up the power nicely.

dear internet even with packages mind you it connects pretty well and the sat nav could have more features and be able to wake up quicker apart from that i`m well pleased with the phone maybe battery life could be better as i`m semi deaf i use it instead of house phone so a hearing aid compatibility would be awesome too

A welcome return by nokia to a phone that feels like it will last and perform in build quality as this was a downside to nokia phones a few years ago where the quality of phones slipped

if you plan on using the phone for over 100 mins of calls or are heavy user on the applicaions during the day battery life can suffer

Excellent range of features and applications. Admittedly, the music player isn't quite as slick as on an iPhone, and the GPS isn't quite up to the standard of the best standalone devices but they're not far off, and besides, if you follow that logic you'll end up carrying a dozen devices in your pocket. The camera is as good as any on a mobile phone, the connectivity is excellent and it does the simple stuff like voice calls, text and email perfectly.

The battery life is fine under normal use (comparable to other phones I've had) but drops significantly when using the GPS, so consider investing in a car charger (there are plenty of cheap ones on ebay).

Definitely has lots of features, the camera is particularly good for me quality wise. Large screen.

internet is OK but some issues connecting to networks. Battery life can be short depending on use, must remember to not use lots of functions and to charge at night. Feels solid but a little flimsy, when using nav pad can accidentally press side buttons as all a little too close together.

What sold me on this phone was it's size, multi media features, GPS & maps and organiser all in one. It's a great all in one device and I really love the sound quality of the music player too! I love the idea of the key pads rather than a touch screen because it means I can text easily too!

initial games are only trial / demos, battery life could be improved and it would be good if I could sync the phone calendar and contacts with my hotmail calendar / contacts, etc. Although the phone has many features (which is great) sometimes it is difficult to remember how to access some of them. For instance, when I first got the phone I found out how to set up the quick menu (i.e. saving my favourite applications onto the phone's display so I could just scroll through them as needed), however I can't remember how I did this and can't seem to remember how I did it. Logically to me I should be able to set them up by going to Tools > Settings > General > display or personalisation ... but it isn't there and I don't know what the functionality is called so can't find it via 'Help' either

Battery life and the fact that you cant extend the snooze interval on the alarm clock!
