The quality of the playback on DVDs is very goo.
It takes a while to start up and switch off but that is due to having the internal hard drive. But there aren't really any bad points that I know of.

Superb picture quality when connected to tv with hdmi. Very easy to set up and works well with Panasonic tv.
Don't know of any bad points on the machine at the moment, although the Instruction manual from Panasonic leaves much to be desired. Still trying to fathom large parts of it.

It is so quick and easy to use, no messing about looking for empty tapes or cd/dvd discs, for quick recording straight on to the hard drive. it is brilliant!!!
No bad points, we love it!!!

David, Waltham
Very pleased with the results of the recordings and the ease of set-up. Perfect picture quality on playback through the hard drive.
Sometimes misses start of programmes although we are aware that this is probably due to the broadcaster not the equipment.

Mike, Liverpool, “Not a technophobe”
Very happy with product. Automatic set-up in minutes. Instructions easy to follow and remote much better than the one provided with the previous Panasonic DVD I had. Virtually silent in operation, picture quality during play back exception with the HDMI cable I purchased at the same time even though I cannot record in HD.
Used to use video+ with my old DVD and have found recording set-up from the programme guide rather annoying.

I'm naive about new techno stuff - this thing is cool! The GUIDE recording function is so easy and takes away all the stress.

Looks smart, excellent picture and sound quality through HDMI connection (almost like HD), amazingly faithful recordings (like watching original), good editing facilities, easy to programme timer.
Some minor irritations, DVD mechanism makes clunking noises, recordings on dual-layer DVDs don't seem playable on other machines (but normal, single-layer DVDs fine).

Follows previous Panasonic models for ease of use and standard remote control
No SD slot or USB on this model

Very easy to use. Great for picking up a programme half-way through its recording cycle & fast forwarding through the ads.
Bit noisy at times, but not enough to cause any problems.

Good picture, easy recording. Does it's job.
A little slow on power saver setting, which is the price we pay for saving energy. If you want a quicker service you have to use more energy. EPG a little unreliable in that it doesn't always update readily on all channels, which makes it difficult to plan ahead with setting up recordings.

All round excellent quality DVD recorder easy to use with user friendly menu's.
None really. Not sure if I like the all black facia, a nice dark grey colour might have been more attractive. I however dislike silver.

Tim, Knutsford, “demanding technology user”
Nice menu for accessing recorded programs, good picture quality, easy to use.
A little slow to start up, can't display program time left only time elapsed. Can't erase programs and use some other functions when recording.

Overall its a good choice, you just connect it up, switch it on and it sets its self up and tunes its self . For what you get I think its good value for the money you pay.
Because it has so many functions it can get confusing.

Rich, Totnes, “quite fussy about hifi”
This kit sounds really good for the money especially when played through good speakers. The cd player is excellent and the dab radio is extremely good too. I plumb my tv freview box through it too for films and music and this is well worth doing too
I havn't worked out yet how to quickly punch in a number for a dab radio station so I have to scroll through to the one I want which I find a bit clumsy - worth it when you get there though

Steve, Stockton On Tees
initial set-up easy... Good guide and series linking. like the preview in navigator of recorded stuff..
Took some time to get instant record/pause live tv from my Viera Plasma set up... ( leave unit in AV1 having connected scarts and HDMI leads correctly) but no real complaints

Richard, Tadley, “normally cope with Hifi”
It looks nice
The instructions are very confusing. I have it connected via SCARRT lead to a Panasonic wide/flat screen HD TV and it is very difficult to view a recording. You can often not record 1 programme and watch another. The HUMAX digibox is infinitely superior. I wish I had not bought it.

Quality product and fitted with Panasonics Viera-Link which is matched to my Panasonic plasma and surround sound system. Large hard drive at 160gb and easy to set up.

Matt, Norwich, “Bit of a luddite.”
Really simple to programme the timer. Instruction booklet is very clear and easy to follow. Initial set up is very easy. Records Sky channels. Had looked at an equivalent Sony machine, but this seems much simpler to use. Haven't needed to burn any DVDs yet, there plenty of space on the hard drive.
Takes a minute or so to switch on after being on standby.
