The inverter system seems to work well
This item replaced a panasonic microwave oven that was about 10 years old. This new one fails in one respect. The old one had an oven element but this new one uses the ceramic grill as the oven element and therefore it is best to preheat the oven before putting the food into the oven otherwise the food can burn very quickly.

Very easy to use with a wide range of automated functions
Clock setting takes a bit of getting used to. Error messages difficult to find in booklet
Excellent product

This is the third time we have chosen this product. The first item broke down after several years of excellent service so we sought out and found the exact model. Our reasoning is based upon the fact that it is totally reliable, a good looking article to enhance the kitchen and it has every option that we require, in particular the "Jacket Potato" option which accurately microwaves and bakes the potato after putting in the weight and produces a crispy skin and soft middle. Several other options work very well for us. We would thoroughly recommend this as an all round cooking multifunctional appliance. The third machine was purchased for our daughter when she set up home and she and her partner are very pleased with it
Sorry, cannot think of any ??

small design with large capacity
when using as a conventional oven, as the heating elements are on the top, I find that cakes etc tend to burn before they are cooked which is very annoying
next time I'll research better

Easy to use. Cooks extremely fast & is large enough inside to fit quite large cooking dishes.
Requires a fair amount of clearance all around as it gets very hot when cooking with the convection oven. That isn't a problem if you have a spacious work top.
An excellent buy which does everything you need in a compact & attractive design.

Smart looking. Microwave and convection cooking excellent. Footprint not as large as some, so easily fits on to work surface. Display is good and clear.
Grill is not so good - use the one on your cooker. Controls are fussy and the number of buttons excessive. The buttons are therefore necessarily marked with very small print and this makes the exercise of finding the right one a bit of a trial for the elderly whose vision is not what it was.
A good machine but the designer's efforts to make it all-singing, all-dancing have compromised the user-friendliness somewhat.

It is good to use once you've mastered the art of using the right controls!
The confusing instructions and the need to refer to the book time and time again when you are trying to use the combination settings. the instructions could be more user friendly and have an index instead of having to trawl through pages to find what you want to know.
Great, efficient and powerful machine.

The convection oven works well. Micro - works well but see bad points.
The press controls are not easy to use. Simple dials to set would be better. Easy to overshoot e.g. trying to set for 10 minutes but 20 is set - no way to back track so the only remedy is to start over again or watch the clock and open at 10. Micro settings - high, low, simmer, etc - except for high difficult to catch at the right point. Grill - poor with sausages - uneven cooking in spite of turning Combination - have not tried - instructions confusing. This would be an excellent machine with more attention to user needs. Many users will be elderly, eyesight poor, reactions slow, etc. My old micro had two simple dials to set - temperature and time - this machine has the added advantage of a convection oven but the old one was easy to use and this one is not.

Good features and a good price. Low power consumption when not in use and of course inverter technology when cooking for a more even job.

Very simple to use on any of the settings - microwave, grill or cooker. Seems very efficient.
Would prefer to choose any time setting rather than be limited to groups of 10 seconds. There's no easy place to store the metal plate for the oven or the metal grill, which takes up a lot of room - (perahps it could fold down?). So I tend not to use this very often in case I forget to put the metal plate in or take it out afterwards.

The oven is well made with easy clean surface and seems very versitile in cooking options. It was bought as alternative to alwasy having to use the main kitchen oven to cook or warm small portions.
There are not really any bad points as such. There are a lot of buttons that you can press, so the cotrols look quite intense. Having previously had a basic microwave oven this one does a lot more therfore there is more to learn to get the best from this oven. Be prepared to spend some time getting to know and get familiar with this one.

Good microwave
Poor to use as convection oven
Replaced a 20yr old Sharp Micro/Convection. Not as good. Often have things burnt.

When it worked it was excellent
Convection Oven now inoperative - temperature setting/thermostat never kicks in, so oven gets hotter and hotter and hotter!
Good value if it hadworked for more than 6 months. In view of the fault, it offers bad value for money. (Worked properly for 6 months only)

This Microway was bought to replace one that lasted 12 years at least. We hope this one last half as much. It's quite easy to use, easy to clean, and it seems quite efficient. We don't really cook meals in microways but it's excellent for warming up and defrosting food. It might be good for cooking but we just don't use microways for that.
I couldn't find it in silver to match the cooker and the rest of the kitchen, personally that is not important to me but my wife wanted a silver one, I buy what I think it is the best for the budget I have and in that category this microwave fits the bill perfectly. Perhaps a little noisy - I was hoping that after 12 years with the old one, the new one with new technology would be a little quieter.

This is an excellent microwave easy to use and food is perfectly cooked every time.
I haven't found any bad points on this appliance.
This is a family sized microwave taking up no more space than the smaller microwave ovens but the end results far surpass the others.10/10

The overall look of the mircrowave is clean and crisp in appearance.the stainless steel interior is a good feature and easy cleanable ,compact size is also a good feature and spacesaver. The touch pad control is easy to use and also easy to clean.
I purchased this mircrowave so as to be able to use it as an oven as well as the other features after carefully reading the speculations.Unfortuntly the oven can only operate with the grill fuction on and this does effect the cooking of most foods.the outer casement of the product is poor in quality, the instuctions for use are limited.I purchased this panasonic ater using my last one for 14 years, sadly the quality is no longer I would have to reconsider buying again and in fact will very soon look for something better.

Very disappointing replacement for an older model oven/grill/micro combi. The oven works off the grill so basically you only get a microwave/grill. The results from using the convection oven are the same as if you had grilled - black on top and cold underneath.

Easy to use, easy to clean, compact for amount of food you can cook. Love the chaos defrost option.
Cannot think of any.
This replaced my dead AEG that would have cost over £100 to repair. I am very pleased with it.

Compact design. Easy-clean control panel.
microwave door does not fit properly. It is mis-aligned with the rest of the front panel. This detracts from the appearance and quality of the product.
Would have like the option to complain about the mis-aligned door, and get something done about it that did not inconvenience me.

A powerful microwave and I like the stainless steel body
A very noisy microwave. I would not recommend it if your living room is too near your kitchen.

Had similar product previously and was very impressed with the ease of use. This one is more slimline but retains the ability to contain large dishes. In addition it is easier to clean as the back wall of the oven is now smooth stainless steel. Being a combi model, cooking time is reduced and there is little need to preheat the oven. The smaller volume capacity means that it is more economical to operate than a standard oven when cooking only one large or a couple of small dishes.
Although the internal features are better designed than earlier models, the external appearance has changed very little. The left-hand-only hinged door can create problems in kitchen layout. - Ever though about optional right-hand hinged door or drop-down or rise-up door?

Although thickness of the instruction book can look quite daunting, it's very helpful and easily explained. The fact that all three facilities - microwave, grilling and convection are all in one neat and stylish machine os great.

Nothing really. Haven't used the oven yet, the grill does not quite result in the same crispness as a standalone grill, but I didn't really expect that.

Diane, Exeter
smaller neater model than its predecessor, useful features like autocook
pizza cooking (amongst other things) requires oven to be reheated on autocook, not very economical and it didn't tell you how long it would take (10 minutes for this item). This was not necessary on old version of oven. recipe book is a cut down version of previous one - no new ideas or recipes, bit disappointing.

Easy to use Multi functional Quite compact and attractive to look at in comparison to other m/waves Does everything it claims to do and does it very well - love the fan assisted combination and convection features..

Although this new model Panasonic is almost identical to my old one the oven element is now in the roof of the oven and I find it almost works like a grill and tends to burn the top of dishes before they are cooked inside.

This is a neat and compact, stylish appliance which sems to do everything claimed of it. Due to its multi-features, it takes a bit of time to get used to (but you don'e use all of its features every day, do you?) but, when you know what you're doing it's all quite straightforward. Don't forget to read the manual!

It's small outside and quite big inside and does everything it says it will and does it well. For the price it has to be one of the best in it's class on the market.
Need some good tips on how to keep the inside clean as it really gets used a lot as an oven with all the spitting fats etc.
11 Oct 2007
Roz, Basingstoke
It looks great and it has additional functions - grill and conventional oven. In theory it should speed up cooking times considerably and be a useful extra oven when entertaining.
In practice it is so hard to understand the multitude of information in the instructions that I end up not using it to its full potential. I am hoping that as I become more familiar with the product it will be a justified extra expense but at the moment I am wishing I had just stuck to a basic microwave. It could be pilot error - ask me again in six months time!
