Simple, good looks, nice sound quality. Fairly easy to use, even for the technophobe. Good value fo a basic DAB radio.

We have tried digital radios before and the reception was terrible. However this Pure One radio is excellent. I can't fault this radio at all. Superb.

Edward, London, “A discerning buyer”
Its so easy to use that even my wife, who admits she is a yoyo with electronic equipment was able to set it up quite easily and is totally happy with it, especially the reception. She reckons that it is much better than a previous DAB that she had Its also very neat and compact.
None that we can think of.

v good value for a dab radio. ease of use, design
reception quality fluctuates a bit e.g. if you're very near to it. however, not a major issue. sound quality isn't great but considering the price paid, its more than adequate.

Good Sound, but signal flucuates which distorts the quality
Volume control difficult to use, to shiny and slippery
17 Feb 2008
Alex, Cardiff
Has proved durable so far and sports a popular brand name.
Materials feel cheap, doesn't pick up as many stations as my colleague's radio and having to use the volume dial to change the station isn't ideal.

Crystal clear reception, even in the basement. Handy LCD display which keeps me from permanently asking "What's this song?".
Conventional batteries run down very quickly, otherwise it's a great little radio.

Best value for money DAB I could find, super sound quality for the size and great reception in an area known for problems with digital broadcasts i.e. poor freeview etc.
Display could be better

Dead simple to use. Clear and informative display. Cool design and can use batteries.
A little tempremental with location to pick up all stations

Rachel, Nuneaton
It is very sleek and stylish. The control for changing station is very good and it does offer FM for non digital stations.
The buttons are quite small, not particularly a problem for me but could be for others. The display scrolls quite slowly and if you are trying to read it and turn up the volume at the same time you lose the information for a minute.

Compact size, very simple to set-up, clear sound with very good reception - no need even to extend the aerial.
Display is a little cramped limiting the amount of information that can be seen at any one time.

Great looking, light-weight and crystal clear reception, bought it for my boyfriend to take to work and he raves about it.
LCD is a little small...if I was being picky. Also the lead isn't too fond of rough treatment, although Pure seem to have addressed this and made it a little bit tougher of late.

Easy to programme and use
Feels very lightweight if batteries not in it - the display does not stay on for long enough - either stays on all the time which is very annoying at night or only stays on for about 10 seconds - could do with a dimmer switch so that it can be left on permanently at night

Compact design - ideal kitchen radio. Good sound quality for its size.
Could do with a larger screen. The present size makes stations tuned in difficult to see for older people Arrangement of buttons round central volume / enter button can be confusing until one gets used to it, but it does give a good choice of options.

Exactly what we were looking for at a very competitive price. Sound quality so much better than analogue and reception excellent anywhere, even with aerial retracted. Great to have the extra channels
Standard batteries used up very quickly (esp if accidentally left on) so sensibly you have to buy one of the rechargeable battery packs which are very expensive.Frustrating but at least a 1-off.

Good sound for mono, easy to use and looks good in the new kitchen.
very plastic and sometimes poor reception which is strange cos it doesn't move location.

Paul, Maidstone
I found it dead easy to get the two stations I most use and although we live in a very bad reception area I find ever station I am interested in available although I can only get LBC on analogue.
I can't get the hang of storing more than two stations but this is probably more a function of my age, 80+, rather than the set.
18 Oct 2007
Carol, Leominster
Good clear sound. Good quality for a cheaper end of scale model. More channels than I thought I could get. Modern but tasteful looking. I like the white.
Took a minute or two to sort out how to change channels but easy once I knew.

Looks good picks up stations quickly.Easy to use.Digital stations very good.I bought it because my son had one, I was originally going to get a more expensive one but was really impressed with the quality of the Pure.
Can't pick up Capitol Radio on Digital, thats only my really problem with it
12 Oct 2007
Paul, Newcastle
Utterly simple operation, just turn on and you're away. Great sound, fills a kitchen easily without distortion. Presets are easy to set, the Kitchen Timer is a welcome addition. Display shows time when on standby, and can also be set to always have the backlight on (when in operation)
Pressing the big centre button to select presets/stations requires you to support the unit from behind as it's not heavy enough to let you press the button without wobbling backwards, if you see what I mean. Screen is a bit small, but not too small. Has an external power adapter rather than taking a standard stereo power lead, but this isn't particularly an issue.

Rechargeable battery (option) is very expensive

The sound clarity. Pre set stations. Ease of set up when first using. Ability to self charge batteries whilst still operating on mains cable. The portability and ease of cleaning of unit.
Cannot receive Long wave (need shipping forcast). Length of required ariel.
