Well designed, compact, easy to use straight out of the box in the car or walking, 3 hours battery life, locks onto satelites in seconds and simple online updates and downloads.
Optional extras like more maps and ''safety' camera locations a bit on the pricey side.

Easy to use with clear guidence. Compact size & fully upgradable through Tom Tom home. Have used Tom Toms for 3 years now with no problems then upgraded to this model & am equally impressed.
Whilst the built in bracket is a good idea & works really well, it can be a bit awkward to get used to at first, you can detach the device from the bracket as well though.

Excellent performance in an area where I lived for 47 years, in commuter Surrey. I tested TomTom out there first of all, knowing exactly where I should drive. However, on one memorable occasion it provided a route which took only a third of the time my planned route (from my own personal knowledge) would have taken. Clearly in that area, many people have internet access and share their knowledge with other users by uploading changes.
The hardware is fine. However, the online information which is available for the TomTom to download is very variable. When it relates to fairly middle-class areas, the downloaded information is very up-to-date. However, in areas lower down the demographic profile, where users have perhaps not bothered to upload alterations, road changes, new street names, etc. the software is sadly lacking. Obviously, this is not the fault of the product. It just bears out the importance of sharing via the internet. In areas where most people are still not online, obviously not many updates to the basic software have been made.

Very easy to use, very compact.
Map's don't include some roads that have been open for a while. Battery life and mount could be better.

I chose Tim, so a firm voice when in heavy traffic, which enables you also to have low music on for the long stretches of a motorway for example, you have access to traffic information them too. When local knowledge takes over and you take the best route, it picks up and carries on well.
It is restricted as to where it directs you, one turn right would have taken me down a farm track with one foot deep muddy tractor ruts! Where Sat Nav has been told there is a faulty route - up a winding narrow hill, when another cear route is available, ought to be noted, and somehow a way of putting that into existing Sat Nav models already in use.

Easy to use.
Shows the shortest route, which is not always the best (narrow country lanes!)
